Tracy Medve continues as CEO of KF Capital Ltd. as a result of the company’s planned leadership succession

August 7, 2025 —KELOWNA— KF Aerospace is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregg Evjen as President of KF Aerospace, effective September 1, 2025.

This appointment is part of KF’s long-term succession planning and establishes a leadership structure that pairs Gregg’s experienced operational oversight with continued strategic guidance at the group level. Tracy Medve, KF’s current President and CEO, will continue as Chief Executive Officer of KF Capital Ltd., the umbrella organization overseeing KF Aerospace and the company’s other business divisions and strategic initiatives.

Gregg has a 35-year career with KF Aerospace, joining as a Junior Engineer in 1989 after completing his studies in Aeronautical Engineering at SAIT. He has played a central role in the company’s evolution—leading hundreds of engineering projects and regulatory approvals, including the Convair CV5800 stretch program, multiple freighter conversions, and modification programs across nearly every major aircraft type in KF’s operations.

Gregg was instrumental in growing KF’s Engineering department into one of Canada’s leading Transport Canada Design Approval Organizations (DAO) and achieving Recognized Design Approval Organization (RDAO) status with the Department of National Defence (DND). He currently holds dual delegations as a Transport Canada Design Approval Delegate and a DND Senior Design Engineer, and he is widely respected in the Canadian aviation industry for his technical expertise and regulatory leadership.

He has held progressively senior roles at KF, including Manager and Director of Engineering, Vice President of Maintenance & Engineering, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 2021 to 2025. A long-time member of KF’s Executive Team, Gregg brings both continuity and vision to the company’s next chapter of growth.

Gregg currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) as Past Chair and is a recipient of ATAC’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his decades of leadership and contributions to Canadian aviation.

About Gregg Evjen

Gregg Evjen was appointed President of KF Aerospace in 2025, following a long and distinguished career with the company spanning more than 35 years.

After completing his studies in Aeronautical Engineering at SAIT, Gregg joined KF Aerospace in 1989 as a Junior Engineer. Over the decades, he has played a central role in the company’s evolution—leading hundreds of engineering projects and regulatory approvals, including the Convair CV5800 stretch program, multiple freighter conversions, and modification programs across nearly every major aircraft type in Canada.

With over three decades of design and certification experience in both domestic and international jurisdictions, Gregg has developed deep knowledge of civil and military regulations (TC/FAA/EASA), industry standards, and best practices. He has also built an extensive network across the Canadian and global aerospace sectors.

Gregg has held progressively senior roles at KF, including Manager and Director of Engineering, Vice President of Maintenance & Engineering, and most recently, Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 2021 to 2025. In these roles, he provided oversight across core operational areas such as Engineering, Maintenance, Flight Operations, Business Development, Manufacturing and Aircraft Leasing. His contributions have helped shape KF’s customer strategy, diversified work portfolio, and sustained operational excellence.

As President, Gregg continues to lead with a strong focus on innovation, operational integrity, and long-term stability for the organization. A long-time member of KF’s Executive Team, he brings both continuity and vision to the company’s next chapter of growth.

About Tracy Medve

Since she began her career in aviation in 1985, Tracy Medve has held various senior airline management positions, including at Norcanair, Time Air, Canadian Partner and Canadian Regional Airlines. Tracy was the co-founder of C.T. AeroProjects, a Calgary- based consultancy focused on air transport resource management. There, she worked with a wide range of public and private aviation clients worldwide. From 2007 to 2012, she was the President of Canadian North Airlines.

In 2013, Tracy was appointed President of KF Aerospace. In 2021 she became President and CEO of KF Capital Ltd (the parent company of the KF Group of Companies). As of 2025, she retains the role of CEO of KF Capital Ltd., overseeing the broader group of KF businesses and divisions under the KF Capital umbrella.In 2013, Tracy was appointed President of KF Aerospace. Tracy is the Past Chair of the Air Transportation Association of Canada (ATAC) and the first woman in Canada to be inducted as an Honorary Life Member. She previously sat as a Director of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) and was a member of the University of British Columbia, Okanagan External Advisory Board. Since 2003 she has served as a part-time member of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (TATC). Tracy is the past Chair of the Fortis BC Board of Directors and the current Board Chair of SkyAlyne – a partnership with CAE, Inc. managing Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

Tracy is a lawyer by training (University of Saskatchewan, 1982) and a graduate of the John Molson School of Business Global Aviation MBA program at Concordia University (2009). She is the 2007 recipient of the John Molson School of Business MBA Scholarship. She was inducted as a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honour society in 2009. In 2022 she was the recipient of the James C. Floyd award for her contribution to aviation.  In 2025, Tracy was inducted into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame.

Tracy also served in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves as a Signals Officer from 1975 to 1981. She has two sons and enjoys golfing, cycling and learning to play the piano in her spare time.
