Celebrating International Women’s Day & Women of Aviation Worldwide Week
March 4, 2026
As you may know, we have a lot to celebrate this week! The first week of March is Women of Aviation Worldwide Week, and this Sunday, March 8th is International Women’s Day. It’s a perfect time to recognize the achievements, resilience, and impact of women across KF and throughout the aviation industry.
This year’s celebration is especially meaningful for KF: In late 2025, we proudly achieved our goal of building a 25% female workforce, a milestone that reflects our collective commitment to greater representation and opportunity.
Reaching this benchmark is not the finish line, but an important step forward. It represents years of intentional recruitment, development, mentorship, and advocacy. Most importantly, it reflects the talented women across our teams whose expertise, leadership, and innovation strengthen our company every day.
Progress in aviation (and in every industry) has always depended on those willing to challenge barriers and expand what’s possible. One remarkable example from aviation history is Katharine Wright. While her brothers, Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright, are widely recognized for inventing and building the world’s first successful airplane, Katharine played a pivotal role in their success. She managed correspondence, handled public relations, supported their business operations, and even traveled internationally to represent and advocate for their work.
At a time when women were rarely visible in technical or business leadership roles, Katharine was instrumental in ensuring the Wright brothers’ achievements received global recognition. Her story is a powerful reminder that progress is rarely the result of one or two visible figures alone. It’s built on the contributions of many, including those whose work happens behind the scenes.
As we close Women of Aviation Worldwide Week and celebrate International Women’s Day, we honor the women who paved the way, those who are shaping our industry today, and the next generation who will take aviation even further. Together, we continue building a workplace and an industry where talent, ambition, and innovation know no boundaries.
